Next generation environment philanthropy
A few years ago, a group of young professionals in philanthropy united to explore one question:
How can we create a space to center conversations around environmental justice within philanthropy?
emerging group of young people working in global philanthropies
Our goal is to become the primary platform for young professionals beginning their careers in environmental philanthropy.
Between Philanthropy and Environmental Justice
Key objectives of this platform include:
Expanding access for diverse youth, particularly from the global south and with a focus on gender representation.
Enhancing young professionals' capacity to engage critically with philanthropy while prioritizing justice.
Facilitating the sharing of experiences and connections to redefine philanthropy through the voices of emerging young leaders.
What Our Members Say
London-based member, joined in May 2025:
I see this network as a safe space to learn, support, reflect, and potentially challenge ourselves. I want to ensure our organisations’ work remains rooted in justice, and to build the kinds of trusted relationships we need across the sector.
Los Angeles based member, joined in April 2025:
“I really appreciate being in community with other like minded people in the climate philanthropy space and learn how we might better center justice in our relationships and outcomes.”
A Member based in Denmark:
I do find that the justice lense is, at best, very implicit in our work and I'm struggling to explicitly center it. Finding people who similarly work on making this more central to their work and perhaps others who are challenged by navigating philanthropy in a way that is not extractive would be of huge value.
